Mikael Stavöstrand ir viena no galvenajām personām Zviedrijaselektroniskajā scēnā. Viņš ir plaši pazīstams ar savu unikālo klubutechno interpretāciju, kā arī kā pēdējo gadu labākās eksperimentālāselektronikas producents.

Viņš ir pazīstamākās Zviedru elektroniskās mūzikas ierakstu kompānijasMitek dibinātājs. Scēnā darbojas jau vairāk kā 10 gadus, pirmo ierakstuizdevis 1998. gadā, bet plašāku atpazīstamību ieguva ar 2000. gadāizdoto Lite CD.


Šobrīd Mikael darbojas gan kā solo mākslinieks, gan sadarbojas arcitiem slaveniem Zviedrijas elektroniķiem. Ražīga sadarbība viņam irizveidojusies ar Johan Skugge, ar kuru kopā šogad izdotās 3 skaņuplatesjau saņēmušas lieliskas mēdiju un slavenu dīdžeju atsauksmes, bet parsupergrupu Zviedru prese un elektroniskās scēnas pārstāvji jau dēvēviņa jaunāko projektu Bulgur Brothers, kurā bez Mikael Johan Skugge vēldarbojās un nesen DEPO pabijušais un šogad Zviedru Grammy saņēmušaisAndreas Tilliander. Šogad vien dažādās Eiropas ierakstu kompānijāsparedzēts izdot vairāk kā 10 Mikael Stavöstrand un viņa projektuskaņuplates.

Pēdējo gadu laikā viņš ir uzstājies Ziemeļamerikā, Eiropā un Japānā.
Karstākā ziņa ir, ka noslēgts līgums par viņa skaņdarba iekļaušanu Richie Hawtin (Plasticman) jaunākā miksa ierakstā.

Mikael Stavöstrand / Vita

Stavöstrand, the founder of Mitek, has been featured as a key figure of
the Swedish electronic music scene for his unique interpretations of
club techno as well as for producing some of the most essential
experimental electronic music of the past year. Over the past years has
he performed in North America, Europe and Japan.

Stavöstrand mixes deconstructed sounds with funky little beats to
create minimal dance textures. On his debut album on Force Inc.,
"Reduce", swarms of glitches, crackles and skips infiltrate the 4/4
drive formula of minimal techno. As Vita, his "Vita" 12" on Force Inc.
imprint Force Labs was to meet critical praise and became one of the
best selling releases with its digitalized organic groove.

Mikael is working on a few different release for the 2005. First out he
and fellow Johan Skugge teamed up again for a bunch of releases for our
friends at Onitor - it started with Ängel EP in the end of February,
which will be followed with Humla CD in April and finally Gräns EP in
May -- (busy). Both Ängel EP and Humla are at the moment getting very good responses
in the media as well among dj's worldwide.
For the fall they have just signed up two new EP's with SerieCulture (DE/UK) and Pluspunkt (DE).


Also a new project called Bulgur Brothers, consisting of Mikael, Johan
Skugge and Andreas Tilliander will finally be available on vinyl.
Unfortunately not until the fall though. Karat (France) are releasing
Jaffa EP, with three minimal, freaky and funky club-tracks. As well as
Pluspunkt from Berlin will also do a three tracker.

Mikael has also finished a couple of minimal and organic Ep's for
Pluspunkt (DE) and DSP (Italy), for releases after the summer.
Deep wax's for the edgy dance-floors. A new full length album will
also see the light after the summer, not yet clear on which label
though, as well as a bunch of EP's and compilations on a wide variety
of labels (for ex. Ghostly (US), Revolver (Can), Tic-Tac-Toe
(Denmark), DSP (Italy), Mitek (SE), Adjunct (US).

Breaking news is that one of his tracks for Textone.org, has been
licensed to the new mix record by Richie Hawtin (Plasticman).
